About

A roofing service for a city of a million people and roughly half a million roofs that all age in the same sun

Austin Roof Crew gets an insured, experienced roofing crew to a Central Texas house quickly, with the inspection done properly, the price written down first, and the paperwork kept inside what Texas law allows a roofer to do.

Austin counted 1,002,632 residents in July 2025, living in 456,113 households, and a little under half of those homes are owned by the people in them. Most of the houses went up in three waves: the post-war bungalows and ranches inside the old city, the 1970s and 80s expansion into the hills and up the Mopac corridor, and the production neighborhoods of the 1990s and 2000s that ring the city from Circle C to Avery Ranch. The roofs on all three are asphalt shingle for the most part, and they live hard: deck temperatures over 150 degrees for weeks each summer, hail most springs, straight-line wind, the odd ice storm, and live oaks dropping limbs in drought and in freezes.

That produces predictable work. Pipe boots cooked by UV. Flashing that was caulked instead of stepped. Hail-bruised slopes that look fine from the street and fail two summers later. Roofs that simply reached twenty. None of it is mysterious, and all of it is done better by a crew that has seen a thousand Austin roofs than by whoever knocks on the door after a storm.

What this is

Austin Roof Crew is a local booking service. It connects homeowners and property owners across Travis, Williamson and Hays counties with independent roofing contractors who carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage, and it handles the part most roofing companies handle badly: the phone. The line is picked up every hour of every day, including the night the hail falls, by an automated receptionist that takes the address and the problem; a roofer then calls back to book the free inspection, within minutes when water is coming in.

Texas issues no roofing license, so there is no state license to claim and none is claimed here. What there is to check is insurance, and the certificate is available before the inspection. Where a job needs a permit, which in Austin means a roof inside the Wildland-Urban Interface zones where half or more is being replaced, and in Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Leander and the Hays County cities whatever their own offices require, the contractor doing the work pulls it, and it appears as its own line on the sheet.

What you can hold us to

The roof gets inspected before it gets priced

On the roof and in the attic, every slope photographed, strikes chalked and counted after a storm, the WUI map checked for the address. The findings come before the figure.

The figure is on paper and itemized

Materials by name and rating, decking by the sheet, flashing, vents, permit, disposal and warranty on their own lines. Good for 30 days. Nothing starts until you have said yes to that sheet.

Insurance work stays inside the law

Damage documented to the adjuster's standard and the adjuster met at the house. No paying or waiving of deductibles, under Business and Commerce Code 27.02, and no adjusting of your claim, under Insurance Code 4102.163. If a roofer offers either, you are being offered a crime.

Built for the next storm, not just this one

Class 4 impact-resistant shingles and standing-seam metal offered on every replacement, Class A assemblies in the wildfire zones, ice-and-water shield in every valley, ventilation corrected rather than copied.
