What we collect and why
When you submit the inspection form, we receive the name, callback number, property ZIP code and problem category you enter, plus any text in the detail field. When you call, an automated receptionist records the number you dialed from, the address you give, and a description of the roof problem; calls may be recorded for accuracy, a notice says so at the start of the call, and you may ask for recording to be switched off. The website itself runs a cookieless visitor counter that reports page views and approximate region. It sets no tracking cookie, builds no profile and loads no advertising script.
We use these details for four purposes: to return your call and book the inspection; to send a roofing contractor to the correct address with the right information; to prepare and retain the written estimate, the photographs and the invoice; and, where a permit applies, to file it in your name with the City of Austin or the relevant suburban building office. Storm photographs are also retained because insurers and buyers request them later. We share your details with the independent contractor assigned to your job, with the building office when a permit is pulled, with your insurance adjuster only when you ask the roofer to meet the adjuster, and with the vendors that operate our telephone, form delivery and hosting on our instructions. We do not sell, rent or exchange contact data, and no advertiser receives it.
How long we keep it, and your options
Job records, estimates, invoices and photographs are retained for the term of the workmanship warranty and the manufacturer warranty on the roof, and for ordinary bookkeeping periods, because they are the evidence of what was installed. Call recordings are kept for a shorter fixed period and then destroyed. Form submissions that never become a job are deleted within a year.
You may ask what we hold, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion by writing to hello@austinroofcrew.com; after a job is complete we can delete your contact details while retaining the technical record of the roof. You may decline call recording at the start of any call. This site serves adults arranging roofing work in Austin and the surrounding cities of Travis, Williamson and Hays counties, Texas. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we delete it if we discover we have.
