The scope and limits of the information on this site, one subject per card, followed by the one warning that matters most.

Effective October 2026. Contact: hello@austinroofcrew.com.

Information, not diagnosis

The pages describe how roofs in Austin and the surrounding cities of Travis, Williamson and Hays counties, Texas fail and how repairs and replacements are specified. They do not assess your roof. A ceiling stain can originate at a pipe boot, a wall flashing, a valley or a nail, and only an attic trace and a roof inspection determine which.

Prices are planning ranges

Every dollar figure is a 2026 range for the region. Pitch, height, decking condition, material grade, complexity, permit requirements and access move the actual cost. The written estimate prepared after inspection is the price.

Code determinations belong to the City

Whether a property lies in an Austin Wildland-Urban Interface zone, and which zone, is determined by the City's map and property profile tool, not by this site. Roof permit requirements in the suburbs are set by each city's building office. Check the source for your address.

Insurance outcomes belong to the carrier

Statements about hail claims describe the general sequence and the two Texas statutes that bind roofers. Coverage, deductibles, cosmetic-damage exclusions, depreciation and deadlines are set by your policy and decided by your carrier. Nothing here is a coverage opinion.

Weather data is historical

Hail dates and sizes are taken from National Weather Service storm reports and are reproduced for reference. A report at a location does not establish damage at any specific address.

Photographs illustrate

Images show the categories of roofs, damage and work described. They are not documentation of a particular customer's property in Austin or elsewhere.

Service life is not guaranteed

Figures for how long shingles, metal, tile and membranes last in Central Texas are typical ranges. Heat, hail, ventilation, tree cover and maintenance alter them. The warranties that apply to your roof are the manufacturer's and the installing contractor's, as written on the invoice.

Independent contractors

Work booked through this site is performed by independent contractors, not by the site operator. The referral marketing disclosure describes the arrangement and the compensation involved.

External links and corrections

One warning outranks the rest. Do not climb onto a roof that has been struck by a limb, stripped by wind or coated in ice, and do not enter an attic beneath a ceiling that sags with water. If a power line is down with a fallen limb, call Austin Energy or 911 and stay clear before anything else. Then call (737) 260-7893; a crew tarps the opening when the roof can be climbed safely.
