Roofing crews and contractors in Central Texas

Austin Roof Crew books roofing work across Austin and the surrounding cities of Travis, Williamson and Hays counties, Texas and assigns it to independent contractors. Contractors who want booked inspections, and roofers who want crew work, start here.

What the contractors and the site look for

  • Fall protection as practice, not paperwork. Harnesses, anchors and a tie-off plan on every steep or two-story roof, and a record without incidents.
  • Current insurance. General liability and workers' compensation certificates issued by the insurer, for any contractor, crew lead or subcontractor.
  • Installation to specification. Shingles nailed at the manufacturer's line, metal flashed with the manufacturer's trim, ice-and-water shield in valleys, ventilation calculated. Warranties depend on it.
  • Inspection skill. The ability to trace a leak through an attic, mark a hail test square, count strikes and photograph them with scale.
  • Knowledge of local code. Austin's Wildland-Urban Interface Code, the work-exempt list, and the permit offices in Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Leander, Lakeway, Bee Cave, West Lake Hills, Dripping Springs and Buda.
  • Compliance with Texas claim law. No deductible offsets under Business and Commerce Code 27.02; no claim adjusting under Insurance Code 4102.163.
  • Trades in demand. Shinglers, standing-seam installers, TPO welders, crew leads who can run a tear-off, estimators who can measure a roof and write an itemized scope, and office staff for permits and documentation.
  • Transport and tools. A vehicle, hand tools and the willingness to work a Texas roof in August.

Getting in touch

  1. Email hello@austinroofcrew.com with the word Contractor or Crew in the subject line, or call (737) 260-7893 and ask for a callback about work.
  2. State what you do, how long you have done it, the cities you cover and the best number to reach you. A résumé is not required to begin.
  3. Contractors attach a certificate of insurance and, where a city requires it, the contractor registration. Crew applicants describe their fall-protection experience and the roof systems they have installed.
  4. A conversation follows. Contractors who meet the list begin receiving booked inspections; crew applicants are introduced to contractors who are hiring.
  5. No applicant is charged at any stage. A request for payment to be listed or referred does not come from this site.
